Haida Navigation College is jointly established by Weihai Sheng'an Shipping Co., Ltd. and Weihai Vocational College in the form of school enterprise cooperation, with a registered capital of 10 million yuan. It is a mixed ownership secondary college that undertakes the functions of maritime vocational education and crew training. At present, there are over 1200 students enrolled in vocational education, and majors such as navigation technology, marine engineering technology, hotel service and management (maritime crew direction), non commissioned officers of the armed police, ship power engineering, and ship electronics and electrical engineering have been established. The college also provides annual training for sailors to be promoted to third officer, mechanics to be promoted to third officer, full-time associate degree training for one-year third officer and third officer, on duty sailors, on duty mechanics, electronic technicians, international cruise ship crew, onboard meal service personnel, and other crew members to the society. It also offers updated training for qualification certificates, passenger ships, oil tankers, and other projects, training more than 7000 crew members annually.   
Since its establishment, Haida Navigation College has strictly focused on teaching and strived to improve the comprehensive business learning of students. Over the years, the passing rate of crew exams has ranked among the top three in similar colleges in the country.
