The Weihai Tanzania international route has been opened, and Sheng'an Shipping has embarked on a new journey
On May 29, 2024, the whistle sounded in Weihai Port, Shandong Province, and the inaugural ceremony of the Weihai Tanzania international route was officially launched. The Tina liner operated by Weihai Sheng'an Shipping Co., Ltd. embarked on the first voyage of the direct sea route between Weihai and Tanzania.
The maiden voyage of this voyage has deployed a liner with a total capacity of 30000 tons, providing a more convenient sea route for Tanzania's exports of frozen seafood, minerals and other products, as well as domestic exports of automobiles, steel pipes and other products. This has effectively facilitated trade between Weihai and Tanzania, and also promoted the accelerated development of overseas economic and trade cooperation parks such as the East African Trade and Logistics Industrial Park.
It is reported that this voyage will depart from Weihai Port, pass through Singapore, cross the Strait of Malacca, and arrive in Zanzibar, covering a distance of more than 6000 nautical miles. It is expected to arrive at the end of June. This is the 8th international liner shipping route opened by Sheng'an Shipping, following the Weihai Russia, Weihai Italy, and Weihai South Korea liner shipping routes.
To ensure the safety and efficiency of the first voyage of the new route, Sheng'an Shipping relied on its rich transportation experience to comprehensively evaluate the cargo carrying capacity, cargo types, and route design. It also conducted a comprehensive assessment of the transportation risk points and formulated corresponding solutions. Xin Hua, the chairman of the company, said that they had discussed and designed the voyage for many times in the early stage, hired high-quality crew members, and kept in touch with the ship through satellite phone, satellite WeChat, to ensure safe arrival in Tanzania.
